We had Elder and Sister Tueller over for dinner on Thursday night. They had just finished moving all of their things up to Warsaw and she didn't know how to work their microwave/oven combination, so we made some soup and bread. It was fun having them over and having them tell us some of their adventures in Lodz. On Saturday we went over to the office to get the extra car that was there. It had been used by the Tufts. We parked it out in front of our apartment and on Sunday, Wayne and I both drove cars over to the chapel. We now have 5 cars parked out back of the chapel. It looks like a used car lot. But all the cars are the same make and color.
Sunday's Testimony meeting was wonderful. Our RS President - Sister Sylwia Zelewska - got up and talked about the time she and her husband went to the temple to do her parent's temple work. She said that her father was a very mean person when they were growing up and she didn't have any kind feelings towards him so she really didn't want to have his work done. While they were there waiting to begin their session, she prayed that her heart would be softened and everything would turn out alright. During the session, she said that she received a warm feeling in her heart and the words to the song - "I am a Child of God" kept coming to her mind. She knew that Heavenly Father knew of her thoughts and that He would make everything right. And that her dad was also Heavenly Father's child. She said that her feelings toward her father have changed from hate to love.
Monday and Wednesday was more legal work for the group that came in to Poland in June. They only have two more steps to go, then they will be completely legal. Monday night we talked about the examples Jesus gave to us, so that we can become more like him. We had 15 there again. We are hoping that they are all getting something out of our lessons. I'm sure a lot is lost in translation. I also gave them a "My Family" packet. It has 7 sheets in it. The first one is all about them - full name birthdate, etc. I told them to fill out as much as they can about their parents and grand-parents. Next week we will go into the Family History center in our chapel and start finding their ancestors.
Tuesday was James' 44th birthday. Wayne and I called him on Wednesday - here at 5:35 am (8:35 pm Tuesday for him). We sang the Polish version of Happy Birthday to him and had a wonderful visit.
Tuesday night there was an European Women's Conference. Elder's Bednar and Ballard were in Germany and they spoke to 39 European nations. I watched it on our computer in our apartment. It was very, very good.
We think about all of you all the time. We love to get emails from you and read about what is happening in your lives. We love the pictures that are sent to us, Especially of our grand kids and how much they are changing.
Till next week - we love you and miss you.
