18 Sept 2014

Happy Birthday Jill on Friday.  We wish you a very happy day!

We are leaving this morning at 10:00 am for our vacation.  Can't wait to get away for a while and yet there's a twinge of guilt because WE ARE ON A MISSION!!!

It's been another busy week.  On Friday, the Warszawa District had a special Relief Society activity.  Friday we met at the mission home and on Saturday we met at the chapel.  It was a beautiful meeting on Friday.  Everyone got to tell what they were thankful for and a lot of testimonies were born.  There were people from Lodz, Bialystok and Warszawa.
Here's our beautiful Warszawa Sisters.  Starting at the top left - Sisters Moncur, Benson, Poklinkowska, Smith, Tobler and Hemming.

And here are a couple of pictures of everyone.  The room was crowded.

Beata is standing and telling everyone what she is thankful for.  We also had a wonderful dinner consisting of salads that Sister Edgren made.  It was a wonderful night.  On Saturday morning, President Edgren spoke to us and did it all in Polish.  I was very impressed.  He talked about unity and how much the sisters can help creating that unity within the branches.

I left the meeting early because Wayne and I had to go shopping for groceries for Zone Conference which was held this week.  Sister Tueller and I decided to have a potato bar and it was a hit.  I made cheese sauce, two cobblers, chili, cut up some olives and baked 28 potatoes.

On Monday for FHE we continued our lesson on Family History.  One of the ladies that attends our meeting (but isn't a member) got really upset and couldn't understand why I wanted to know her birth date and things about her mother and father, etc.  Everyone got really quiet and I told her that I didn't want the information, it was just for her to start her family tree.  I don't know if she really understood, but it did make things awkward for everyone else.  So we had a short lesson and just enjoyed dinner and talking with each other.

Yesterday was our Zone Conference.  The AP's do a wonderful job conducting and inviting the spirit to work with the elders and sisters.
They had a activity where they threw balloons on the floor and each balloon had a name on it.  They were all to find their own balloon within 45 seconds.  It was a mad house.  Then they had everyone throw their balloons back into the middle and had them get their own balloon, but if they had a chance to hand someone their balloon to them, they could do so.  This time it was like it was all organized and it took less time.  So helping each other is a good thing and you can accomplish more in less time when you work together.

Everyone had their balloon.

Here is the group.
In the back - Elders Fotu, Wynne, Sidwell, Wright, Garcia, Torres, Anderson, Boyce, White, Peacock, Wride, Hardy, Pieper, Jaeger and Caskey.  Second row - Elders Waskiewicz, Quackenbush, Retallick, Jeffs, Solmes, Campora, Garrett, Taylor,Blom, Burdick, Guthrie, Kimball and Weggersen.  Sisters - Benson, Hemming, Smith, Mikalauska, Woodward, Moncur, Tobler and Poklinkowska.
And that's us, President and Sister Edgren and the Tuellers.

Here's the guys enjoying the potatoes.  They sure can put it away!
Elders  Sidwell, Burdick, Torres, Retallick.

They did some role playing during the conference after lunch.  Elder's Fotu, Caskey and White.

Conference is over.  The missionaries from Lodz, Lublin, and Kielce had to get to the train station.  It's hard leaving everyone.

So Wayne and I got a hold of some bikes.  And we went for a bike ride last night.  It was fun, but my legs were shaking when we got home.

We tried to take a selfie, but it didn't quite work.  Wayne's too tall.

So I took one of him when we got back to the apartment.

One thing I learned today at conference:
"You know you're on the right road if it's going uphill'
This was said by President Eyring.

Anyway, have a good week.
We love you and miss you all.
